The University of Cordoba is, after the autonomous university of Madrid, the most scientifically productive according to the ranking drawn up by the University Rovira i Vigilli, which, among other aspects, analyses the ratio of scientific publications in Impact Factor journals per professor. In this sense, the teaching staff at the Univeristy fo Cordoba appear as the second most productive with the publication of 0.75 articles in relevant journals per year per researcher. It includes some 12,000 journals and 46 million documents grouped into 256 themed categories.
The report also reviews other indicators such as the impact of the articles or the global number of publications made. In the majority of them, the University of Cordoba appears among the fifteen most outstanding scientific institutions in the Spanish university panorama.
According to the report “Scientific Productivity of the Spanish University System 2010”, the University of Cordoba published 916 articles in journals indexed by the Web of Science in 2010. Also, 41 of these publications are placed among the most quoted by the rest of the scientific community.
